Of BBQ Parties, Bright Students, and Our Growing Musubi Tree 🌳✨

Section 1: A Sizzling Welcome for Our Newest Ohana

In early April, the Musubi team gathered for a special BBQ to welcome our three newest family members: Jiaying, Wenny, and Zara!

To make the day truly special, Takuya-san sourced premium meats from his favorite butcher, Onishi, and it was nothing short of a gourmet feast. Beyond the incredible food, it was a day to step away from the salon chairs, forget about work for a moment, and dive into “girls’ gossip” and exciting travel plans!

The highlight? The grand finale—our signature Yakisoba. There’s a certain magic that happens when a team eats together; the flavors feel 100 times better, and our bonds grow even stronger. We are so excited for this new chapter of Musubi and can’t wait to channel this positive energy into making our clients even happier!

Section 2: Inspiring the Future—A Visit from Seiryo University

Every two years, we are honored to welcome a fresh group of ambitious students from Seiryo University (Ishikawa, Japan). As part of their global business research, they visit Musubi to learn about entrepreneurship and the reality of running a business in Singapore.

While Takuya shared his personal journey and the “adventurous” side of starting a salon abroad (which always gets a few laughs!), it was equally inspiring to hear the students’ dreams. Their teacher mentioned that the Musubi visit is always a favorite—perhaps because we keep it casual, honest, and a little more daring than your average corporate visit!

Of course, our resident mascot Toto the cat did a fantastic job as the welcoming committee, too. 🐾

Section 3: Growing the Musubi Tree

Before they left, the students added their marks to our “Musubi Tree.” For those who haven’t seen it in the salon, this is a mural Takuya painted when we first opened. Every person who visits us adds a colorful thumbprint and their name, helping our tree “grow” over the years.

Seeing the tree filled with the vibrant energy of these students was the perfect reminder of why we started Musubi: to connect people, cultures, and dreams.
